apparently, you can landing in the Forks now!
you have to make an appointment and wait for about a month,and don't have to drive out!
please correct me if i am wrong.

This is true. You can land at the Forks CIC office. But I would travel to US-Canada border and finish the whole process in a few minutes rather than waiting one month for the appointment.
