Canada Day at The Forks presented by Rogers
This day-long birthday party is the place to be on July 1. From activities and a wide variety of big stage music and entertainment to a spectacular fireworks display - make sure you bring the whole family.
On site programming 1:00pm - 10:00 pm
Family-friendly activities all day long including clowns, musicians, buskers, crafts and entertainment all over.
Scotiabank Stage 2:45 pm - 11:00 pm
The Stage fires up with local up and coming high school bands, followed by the winners of Power 97\'s Rockin\' the 204 contest featuring 3 of Manitoba\'s finest indie bands, next the dynamic and captivating Winnipeg based Duhks take to the stage and the evening is capped off with an exhilarating performance by the full Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

Water and Waste
Changes to Recycling/Garbage Collection on Wednesday, July 1, 2009:
Single-family Homes
There will be no recycling or garbage collection on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Collection will resume on Thursday, July 2, 2009 - Day 5 on the five-day cycle.
Multi-family Apartments
Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.
Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday week:
Tuesday, June 30 - 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 1 - 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 2 - 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit
Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday Schedule. As well, certain buses will be re-routed to accomodate Canada Day activities.
Special Canada Day Service: FREE Canada Day Shuttle
Winnipeg Transit will be operating a FREE Canada Day Shuttle linking Downtown, The Forks and Osborne Village. The FREE shuttle service begins at 12:00 p.m. and runs until 12:00 a.m.
11 Portage Extra Service
Winnipeg Transit will be operating EXTRA bus service on Route 11 Portage for travel between The Forks and Assiniboine Park.
The EXTRA service begins at 12:00 p.m. and runs until 11:00 p.m.
Regular transit fares apply.
Post-Fireworks Departure
Leaving The Forks:
Buses to all parts of the city will be available northbound on Main Street at York.
Leaving Assiniboine Park:
Extra buses will be parked eastbound Portage at Overdale to take passengers downtown.
2 extra buses will be parked westbound Portage at Overdale to provide service to the St. James Assiniboia area.

All Libraries are open for regular operating hours on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30. All branches are closed on Wednesday, July 1. Please check the library web site for branch hours.

Swimming Pools
Indoor Pools
All indoor pools will close on Wednesday, July 1 except the Pan Am Pool. The Pan Am will be open 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.. Please visit the web site at winnipeg.ca for pool schedules or call 311.
Outdoor Pools
Al outdoor pools will be open July 1. Pool times vary with most pools open noon-7:30 p.m.
Wading Pools
Weather permitting, the following wading pools will be open on Wednesday, July 1: Amherst Park, Brock Cordova Park, Dakota Water Park, Elmwood Park, JH Bruns Park, John M King, Home Playground, Keenleyside Park, Kildonan Park, McKittrick Park, Norquay CC, Northwood CC, Pascoe Park, Pirates Park, Vimy Ridge Park, and Westdale Wading Pools.
Hours vary; however, most are open 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The regular season schedule is in effect July 2. For schedule information, please call 311 or view the wading pool schedule on-line at winnipeg.ca.
Spray Pads
All spray pads are open from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and include: Fort Rouge Park, Lindenwoods CC, Provencher Park, River Heights CC and St. Norbert CC.
